What Is a Facial Cleanser?

A Korean facial cleanser is an essential step in any skincare routine.

It removes impurities, excess sebum, pollution, and makeup accumulated throughout the day.

Cleansing is a key step to maintaining healthy, radiant skin and preparing it to fully absorb the following treatments (toner, essence, serum, moisturizer).

In Korea, the double cleansing method is a must:

first, an oil cleanser to remove makeup and sunscreen, followed by a gentle foam or gel cleanser for perfectly clean skin.

How to Apply a Korean Facial Cleanser

Oil Cleanser (evening only):

Apply a few pumps to dry skin and gently massage to dissolve makeup and impurities.

Add a bit of water to emulsify, then rinse thoroughly with lukewarm water.

Foam Cleanser:

Lather a small amount between wet hands, then massage your face in circular motions.

Rinse well with lukewarm water and gently pat dry with a clean towel.

In the morning, a light foam cleanser is enough to purify the skin without stripping it.

How Often Should You Use a Cleanser?

Facial cleansing is recommended twice a day:

morning, to remove excess sebum produced overnight.

evening, to clear away makeup, pollution, and impurities.

What Is the Best Korean Facial Cleanser?

There isn’t one single “best” cleanser — the ideal one depends on your skin type:

a gentle, hydrating cleanser with hyaluronic acid or fermented extracts.

a purifying foam with green tea or soft clay.

a soothing cleanser with centella asiatica.

a Korean cleansing oil to effectively dissolve makeup and sunscreen.

Integrating a Korean facial cleanser into your skincare routine is essential for clear, balanced, and healthy skin, perfectly prepped to absorb all the benefits of your next skincare steps.
